FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022


March 2022 - February 2023

The Protocol Consultancy was engaged by FIFA to design, develop and implement a fully integrated, world class VIP guest experience strategy for FIFA Officials and their V/VIP guests and dignitaries (2000+) attending the Qatar FIFA World Cup.

We undertook a strategic review of V/VIP guest relations and experience at the FIFA World Cup Draw and World Congress 2022, and consequently redefined and led the FIFA VIP guest experience and its delivery at the FIFA Qatar World Cup, working closely with the Qatar Supreme Committee and other stakeholders to deliver the highest FIFA standards and best in class world cup experience.

We successfully delivered a fully integrated premium VIP guest experience:

  • Strategy and V/VIP journey mapping to provide an integrated approach to end-to end guest experience from airport arrival and transfers to the 4 V/VIP FIFA official hotels, 6 FIFA clubs, and 16 VIP and V/VIP stadium hospitality suites
  • Design and implementation of state-of-the-art guest liaison strategies for the FIFA highest tier guests and dignitaries
  • Structure to deliver the experience - recruiting, training, and leading 50+ dedicated onsite V/VIP guest relations team (hotel + stadium) with a focus on front end delivery and V/VIP guest service
  • Continuous evaluation of guest satisfaction, identifying shortfalls, and recommending improvements to better serve FIFA's V/VIP guests throughout the tournament

F1 Management

The Protocol Consultancy was briefed to implement Protocol and V/VIP guest relations at F1 management, reviewing the guest experience and designing and implementing a solid V/VIP Programme Strategy for F1 dignitaries and guests attending a Grand Prix.


We were tasked to create and deliver Protocol and VIP guest relations strategy, working closely with the entire Formula 1 eco-system (F1 Management and Teams, Promoters, and stakeholders), to elevate the experience of F1 highest tier guests: royalty, heads of state, government dignitaries, Hollywood A-listers, athletes, C-suite executives.

We successfully delivered bespoke V/VIP guest programmes at F1 calendar firm favourites such as Silverstone, Monaco, and Montreal and first ever races, including Miami, Las Vegas, Saudi Arabia. In new venues, we helped to mitigate risks of running events for the first time in new venues with heightened media attention and high guest expectations.

Advising on and implementing:

  • International protocol principles for hosting guests
  • Briefed leadership and aligned with the ecosystem on joint hosting plans
  • Developed and implemented the guest experience in VVIP suites and activation spaces – Paddock, exclusive Paddock Club VIP area, F1 Garage concept
  • Provided support on curating an F1 Ambassador programme and delivering joint activations and partnerships
  • Trained F1 staff (internal and support) and ecosystem in meticulous delivery of race day V/VIP programme.

G7 Summit

11-12 DECEMBER 2021

Founder, Natasha, took on the role of Protocol Adviser for the UK government’s Foreign Commonwealth and Development Office for the G7 Foreign and Development Ministers summit hosted in Liverpool. 

Protocol and V/VIP visit programme strategy and planning was implemented to host visiting foreign ministers and dignitaries at the Museum of Liverpool. Additional events were hosted at Liverpool Football Club’s Anfield Stadium and The Beatles Story giving visitors the opportunity to discover the city’s rich history.

The summit brought together leaders and VIP guests from the G7 group and representatives from other nations, to discuss climate change, the COVID pandemic, foreign affairs, and international development.

Mutua Madrid Open

APRIL-MAY 2021

The Protocol Consultancy presided over Protocol and V/VIP Guest Management at the Mutua Madrid Open, managing the hosting of government officials, ambassadors and dignitaries while also supporting the VIP hospitality operations and trophy presentations at the end of the tournament.

The tennis championship, hosted at the Caja Mágica, was the first major sports event to take place in Spain since the start of the pandemic, hosting some of the biggest stars on the men’s and women’s tour and drew a VIP crowd to watch all the action.
